Bait Blog is the creation of comedian/writer Mikey Bharj and developer/programmer Thom Knee. It is a brand new comedy website that lists pictures and videos of “bait” people.
For those who might not understand the word, “bait” is a slang word that was coined in London to describe a person or thing of questionable reputation or values, often dismissed by the mainstream and mainstream culture.
Essentially the site is a way for users to find funny content in the form of pictures or videos. It is reminiscent of sites like Funny or Die or Cracked but what sets it apart is that it is specific for finding funny content that pokes fun at people who are acting like fools; think Tumblr without crazy Doctor Who fandoms or memes.
The site has a very simple layout but that works to its advantage as it allows users to view exactly what they have come for – funny videos and pictures.
Perhaps the best feature is that the site allows viewers to submit and upload their own content. It allows for interactivity between everybody visiting the site. With a Facebook social plugin underneath each piece, we can see what other users think about them and also interact with them if we wish to.
The site has frequent daily posts which is great for somebody who likes to visit a site multiple times a day. It is a great site to go to if you want to laugh and also for people wishing to craft their comedic writing skills.
As the site grows and expands it will look to include written articles from users. This will add to the fun of the site in my opinion. For now though it is a website that is impressive for what has been created so far.
